SOM provides world-class creative, development and scripting services for podcasts that follow a storyline and released in a limited series format. Done well, these type of podcasts are valuable intellectual property and ready for adaptation for film, television and streaming.
SOM is a hub of ideas when it comes to designing concepts and formats for regular advertising sponsored “chat-style” podcasts that build and retain a targeted and highly engaged audience.
SOM can help corporate, government and non-government clients educate and motivate their staff through the creation of bespoke podcasts. These can also be used externally to reach a wider audience.
Utilising Baker’s decades of experience at the sharp end of investigative journalism and storytelling, SOM is available to work with production companies on the development of non-fiction documentary programs and fictional limited series or film projects.
SOM is already working a major US showrunner and production company on a documentary project. Baker is also working with an Australian production company on the adaptation of one of his previous narrative podcasts for streaming.
SOM is available for investigative journalism projects for print and digital, in addition to audio and screen.
Subject to availability, Baker offers unique insights into investigative journalism, narrative story telling, podcasting and understanding what the media want. He is currently the inaugural Liffman Fellow at Swinburne University and has previously taught the investigative journalism component of the masters program at the University of Melbourne.
